Casemaking Clothes Moth (Larva)

Dark, undisturbed indoor locations such as closets, storage bins, and beneath rugs.

Keratin-based materials including wool, fur, feathers, hair, silk, and occasionally leather or stored grains.

The larva constructs a portable protective case made of silk and debris (like fibers from what it is eating), which it carries as it moves; it never leaves the case and eventually pupates inside it.

A significant economic pest that causes physical damage to upholstery, clothing, and antique textiles; they are harmless to humans but destructive to belongings.
