Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a portable protective silken case incorporating fibers from its food source. It carries this case as it feeds and eventually pupates inside it.
Risks & Benefits
A significant household pest that causes damage to clothing, upholstery, and rugs; it provides no direct benefit to humans and is an economic nuisance.
