Bed Bug

Found globally in human dwellings, typically hiding in mattress seams, bed frames, furniture, and cracks in walls during the day.

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

They are nocturnal, emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult). They spread through human travel by hitchhiking on luggage, clothing, and bedding.

Risks include itchy allergic reactions, skin rashes, and potential psychological distress or sleep deprivation. While they are not known vectors for infectious diseases, they are significant domestic pests that are difficult and expensive to eradicate.
