Behavior Patterns
Larvae construct a protective silken tube (case) that they carry with them, often incorporating fibers from the material they are eating. They are lucifugous (avoid light).
Risks & Benefits
Considered a major household pest; can cause significant damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They pose no direct health risk to humans but have no ecological benefit indoors.
