Behavior Patterns
The larva spins a portable silken case incorporating debris and fibers from its food source. It carries this protective case as it crawls and eats, eventually pupating inside it. Adults do not feed and are primarily active at night.
Risks & Benefits
They are a significant domestic pest, causing irreversible damage to clothing, carpets, and upholstery. They pose no direct health risk to humans but can be economically damaging.
