Case-bearing Clothes Moth (Larva)

Found indoors, particularly in dark, quiet areas like closets, under furniture, or inside rugs and storage bins where natural fibers are present.

Larvae feed on keratin-containing animal products including wool, silk, feathers, fur, hair, and leather.

The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating fibers from its food source. It carries this case while feeding and eventually pupates inside it. Adults do not feed and are primarily active at night.

Considered a significant household pest; they cause physical damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They pose no direct health risk to humans but can be destructive to personal property.
