Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a portable silken case incorporating fibers from its food source. It carries this case while feeding and eventually pupates inside it. Adults do not feed and are primarily active at night.
Risks & Benefits
Considered a significant household pest; they cause physical damage to clothing, upholstery, and carpets. They pose no direct health risk to humans but can be destructive to personal property.
