Size: Approximately 0.3 to 0.45 mm in length (microscopic).

Natural Habitat
The epidermis of human or animal skin, particularly in skin folds or between fingers.
Diet & Feeding
Feed on dissolved skin cells and extracellular liquid.
Behavior Patterns
The female mite burrows into the upper layer of the skin to lay eggs. This burrowing activity causes an allergic reaction and intense itching.
Risks & Benefits
Causes scabies, a contagious skin infestation characterized by severe itching and rashes. Can lead to secondary bacterial skin infections (like impetigo) from scratching.
