Behavior Patterns
Flightless beetles that move by crawling. They are primarily nocturnal and reproduce through parthenogenesis, meaning the population consists entirely of females that lay fertile eggs without mating.
Risks & Benefits
Considered a significant agricultural pest, particularly in citrus groves. They cause physical damage to leaves (notched edges) and root failure in young plants. They pose no direct risk to human health.
