Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal, cryptic insects that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal to progress through each growth stage.
Risks & Benefits
They do not known to transmit diseases, but their bites can cause itchy red welts, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress. They provide no known benefits to the human ecosystem and are considered a major domestic pest.
