Green Lacewing Larva (Junk Bug)

Gardens, agricultural fields, and wooded areas with high aphid populations

Generalist predator primarily eating aphids, mites, scale insects, and insect eggs

Many species carry a 'trash packet' on their backs made of dead prey carcasses and organic debris for camouflage and defense. They are highly active and aggressive hunters.

Extremely beneficial as biological pest control for gardens. They may occasionally nip humans if handled, causing minor skin irritation, but they are not dangerous.
