Larvae prefer dark, undisturbed areas and are most active as they feed and grow. They undergo complete metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, adult).

Risks & Benefits

Risks include damage to household textiles and clothing. Some people may experience allergic reactions (dermatitis) from contact with the larval hairs. They do not bite humans.
