Human Flea

Found worldwide in human dwellings, beds, and areas with pets or livestock.

Hematophagous; feeds on the blood of humans, dogs, cats, and pigs.

Wingless, jumping insects that are nocturnal and hide in crevices or bedding when not feeding.

Causes itchy dermatitis and can transmit pathogens such as Yersinia pestis (plague) and Rickettsia felis.
