Natural Habitat

Moist, humid areas such as bathrooms, basements, and attics; often found in dark, secluded spots.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and highly secretive. They move with a quick, fish-like swimming motion and go through a three-stage life cycle (egg, nymph, adult) that can last several years.
