They are sedentary compared to other lice, often remaining in the same spot for days after grasping hair. They spread primarily through close physical or sexual contact.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include intense itching (pruritus) and skin irritation caused by an allergic reaction to their saliva. They do not transmit diseases but are a common nuisance pest.
