Natural Habitat

Indoor environments such as kitchens and bathrooms (near moisture), and outdoor areas like flowerpots and under loose bark.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivorous; primarily feeds on honeydew from aphids and mealybugs, but also consumes dead insects and sweets inside homes.

Behavior Patterns

Known for their erratic, jerky movements when disturbed. They form multiple colonies through a process called budding and often trail along baseboards or under carpets.

Risks & Benefits

Generally considered a nuisance pest in homes. They do not sting and their bite is usually unnoticed, but large infestations can contaminate food sources.
