Greenhouse Millipede

Commonly found in greenhouses, gardens, and under leaf litter or mulch; often enters homes in damp conditions.

Decaying organic matter and occasionally young plant shoots.

Night-active and slow-moving, it can curl into a spiral or release a chemical defense (hydrogen cyanide) when threatened.

Harmless to humans though may emit a faint chemical odor; provides ecological benefit by decomposing organic matter.
