Carpet Beetle Larva

Indoor environments, particularly in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, under furniture, inside air ducts, and near baseboards.

Keratin and natural fibers including wool, silk, feathers, leather, hair, and sometimes stored grains.

They prefer darkness and tend to avoid light. Larvae actively crawl to feed on fabrics and organic debris, eventually spinning cocoons to pupate into adult beetles.

Risks include damaging carpets, clothing, and upholstered furniture by chewing holes in natural fibers. They do not bite humans, though shedding bristles can sometimes cause allergic skin reactions in sensitive individuals.
