The epidermis (outer layer) of human skin, primarily in folds of the body like wrists, fingers, and elbows.

Diet & Feeding

Skin cells and extracellular fluid from the human host.

Behavior Patterns

Adult females burrow into the stratum corneum of the skin to lay eggs. They are highly contagious and spread through direct skin-to-skin contact.

Risks & Benefits

Causes Scabies, leading to intense itching and skin rashes. While not a vector for other diseases, scratching can lead to secondary bacterial infections like impetigo or cellulitis.
