Booklouse

Damp, humid indoor areas, libraries, pantries, and places with mold or starchy residues.

Molds, fungi, starchy materials, book bindings, and sometimes grain products.

They are wingless, highly sensitive to humidity, and often reproduce parthenogenetically indoors where conditions are warm and damp.

They do not bite humans or transmit diseases, but large infestations can contaminate stored food products and damage old books or paper materials.
