Sawtoothed grain beetle

Commonly found indoors in pantries, food storage facilities, grain elevators, and grocery stores where stored food products are kept.

Feeds on dried plant material including flour, cereals, processed grains, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, pasta, and pet food.

Flightless or extremely reluctant to fly, these beetles crawl into small cracks and crevices of packaging. Females lay eggs directly into or near food sources, and larvae feed until pupating within the product.

They do not bite, sting, transmit diseases, or cause structural damage. However, they are significant household and commercial pests that contaminate and spoil stored dry food products, rendering them unfit for consumption.
