Carpet Beetle Larva

Found indoors in carpets, upholstery, closets, and bird nests or outdoor animal dens.

Feeds on natural fibers such as wool, silk, feathers, fur, and dried organic matter like pet food or dead insects.

Slow-moving and covered in prickly hairs; larvae avoid light and prefer dark, undisturbed areas to feed and grow.

Can cause significant damage to household textiles and clothing. Some people may experience allergic reactions or skin irritation (carpet beetle dermatitis) from contact with larval hairs.
