Primarily found in crevices within human dwellings, especially in mattresses, bed frames, and furniture.

Obligate hematophagy; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal parasites that pinpoint hosts via carbon dioxide and body heat; they undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Direct risks include itchy welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress; they are not known vectors of disease, but infestations are difficult and costly to eradicate.
