Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and highly gregarious. They reproduce rapidly, with females carrying egg cases (oothecae) until shortly before hatching. They are fast runners but rarely fly.
Risks & Benefits
Significant public health pest. They can spread pathogens like E. coli and Salmonella, and their droppings and shed skins are major triggers for asthma and allergies in humans.
