Diet & Feeding

Omnivorous scavenger that feeds on food scraps, glue, soap, and decaying organic matter.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and highly gregarious; nymphs undergo several molts before reaching maturity. They are fast runners and tend to hide in narrow cracks and crevices during the day.

Risks & Benefits

Significant indoor pest. Can trigger asthma/allergies and spread pathogens by contaminating food surfaces. They offer little to no ecosystem benefit within human dwellings.
