Carpet Beetle Larva

Found indoors in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, carpets, baseboards, and inside heating ducts where natural fibers accumulate.

They feed on animal-based natural fibers including wool, silk, fur, feathers, leather, and sometimes dead insects or pet hair.

Active mostly in dark places, avoiding light. The larval stage is the destructive phase, and they molt multiple times before pupating into adult beetles.

Risks include damaging clothing, carpets, upholstered furniture, and stored natural fiber items. They do not bite humans, though tiny hairs on some larvae can cause minor skin irritation or allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
