Size: Nymphs start at 3 mm and grow to 1.5 cm before adulthood.

Natural Habitat
Warm, humid environments near food and water sources, commonly found in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.
Diet & Feeding
Omnivorous scavenger; eats crumbs, grease, sugary substances, bindings of books, and other organic matter.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and highly reproductive; they go through 6-7 nymphal stages (instars) and tend to congregate in dark, secluded crevices during the day.
Risks & Benefits
Significant indoor pest. Risks include spreading pathogens (Salmonella, E. coli), contaminating food, and triggering allergies or asthma via shed skins and droppings. No direct ecosystem benefits in human dwellings.
