Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, preferably humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nicturnal insects that emerge from hiding at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal to progress through each growth stage.
Risks & Benefits
They are a significant domestic pest causing itchy bites, allergic reactions, and psychological distress/insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but infestations are difficult and costly to eradicate.
