Bed Bug (Egg or Cast Skin)

Size: Eggs and cast skins are approximately 1 mm; Adult bed bugs are 4–5 mm.

Natural Habitat
Found in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas, such as mattress seams, box springs, bed frames, headboards, and behind loose wallpaper.
Diet & Feeding
Hematophagous; feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded mammals.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and cryptic; they hide in tight spaces during the day and emerge at night to feed. They aggregate in clusters and leave behind black fecal spots and amber-colored cast skins (exuviae) as they molt.
Risks & Benefits
Primary risks include itchy and irritating bites that can lead to secondary skin infections, allergic reactions, anxiety, and insomnia. They are not known to transmit disease but are significant nuisance pests.
