Natural Habitat
Found in gardens, lawns, and cultivated landscapes, particularly in the northeastern United States where it is an invasive species.
Diet & Feeding
Larvae (grubs) feed on the roots of grasses and ornamentals; adults are nocturnal and feed on the foliage and flowers of over 100 different plant species.

They are nocturnal flyers and are strongly attracted to bright lights. During the day, they hide in the soil at the base of plants. They emerge at night to feed and mate, most actively during mid-to-late summer.
