Natural Habitat

Found inside homes, particularly in damp areas, on walls, and under furniture.

Diet & Feeding

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, silk, hair, and other organic debris found in household dust.

Behavior Patterns

The larva constructs a protective spindle-shaped case from silk and environmental debris, which it carries while moving. It can extend its head from either end of the case.

Risks & Benefits

Generally considered a nuisance pest; can cause minor damage to natural fabrics like wool or silk, but poses no direct risk to humans.
