Vine Weevil (or similar Black Vine Weevil)

Found in gardens, greenhouses, and occasionally indoors after wandering in from outdoor vegetation.

Adults feed on the leaves of various plants, leaving characteristic notches; larvae feed on plant roots.

They are nocturnal, flightless, and reproduce primarily through parthenogenesis (females laying unfertilized eggs).

They are significant horticultural pests that can damage or kill ornamental plants, but they pose no physical risk to humans or pets.
