Behavior Patterns
They are slow-moving and spend their entire lives clinging to hair shafts. They cannot jump or fly and are primarily transmitted through close physical or sexual contact.
Risks & Benefits
Causes intense itching (pediculosis pubis) due to an allergic reaction to their saliva. They do not transmit diseases but can indicate exposure to other sexually transmitted infections.
