Size: Microscopic; females are approximately 0.30 to 0.45 mm long, males are about half that size.

Skin cells and secretions from the human host.

Behavior Patterns

Females burrow into the skin to lay eggs. Symptoms (scabies) develop due to an allergic reaction to the mites, their eggs, and waste.

Risks & Benefits

Risk: Causes scabies, a highly contagious skin infestation characterized by intense itching and a pimple-like rash. It is not beneficial.
