Behavior Patterns

Nymphs are often gregarious and move slowly. They use piercing-sucking mouthparts to drain chlorophyll, leading to yellow stippling or bleaching of foliage. They leave behind characteristic black spots of frass (excrement).

Risks & Benefits

Significant agricultural pest for herb crops; can cause plant death in heavy infestations. Harmless to humans, though they can occasionally bite if they land on skin, causing minor irritation.
