Silverfish

Moist, humid, and dark areas such as basements, attics, kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

Consumes starchy substances and polysaccharides found in book bindings, carpet, clothing, glue, paper, photos, plaster, and sugar.

Nocturnal and extremely fast-moving pests. They undergo ametabolous metamorphosis (lacking a pupal stage) and can live for several years. They avoid light and are often found when items are moved or at night.

They do not bite or transmit diseases to humans but are considered household pests because they can damage books, wallpaper, and textiles. They are a food source for other predatory arthropods like spiders and centipedes.
