Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. Small reddish-brown 'rust' spots on bedding are often fecal spots consisting of digested blood.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy allergic reactions to bites and significant psychological distress/anxiety; they are not known to transmit diseases but are a major nuisance pest.
