Natural Habitat

Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they are attracted to the CO2 and heat of a sleeping host. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy skin lesions, psychological distress, and potential allergic reactions; they are not known vectors of disease. There are no ecological benefits in a human environment.
