Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they undergo five nymphal stages, molting their exoskeleton after each blood meal, which leaves behind the translucent brown sheds similar to the image.
Risks & Benefits
While they do not transmit diseases, their bites cause itchy welts and can lead to secondary infections, psychological distress, and allergic reactions. They have no known ecosystem benefits in human environments.
