Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages requiring blood meals to molt.
Risks & Benefits
A major public health pest causing skin rashes, psychological distress, and allergic reactions. They do not transmit diseases but are difficult and expensive to eradicate.
