Casemaking Clothes Moth (larva/case)

Dark, undisturbed areas of homes, closets, and storage bins where natural fibers are available.

Keratin-based materials including wool, silk, feathers, fur, hair, and occasionally dried organic matter.

The larva constructs a protective silken case incorporating fibers from its surroundings. It carries this case as it moves and feeds, eventually pupating inside it.

A significant household pest that causes physical damage to expensive textiles, rugs, and upholstery; provides no benefit to the human ecosystem.
