Size: 4 to 5 mm (adults), roughly the size of an apple seed.

Natural Habitat
Human dwellings, specifically in mattresses, bed frames, cracks, and crevices near sleeping areas.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, primarily feeding on human blood, usually at night.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and are attracted to heat and carbon dioxide. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).
Risks & Benefits
While not known to transmit diseases, their bites cause itching and allergic reactions. Infestations can lead to significant psychological distress and financial costs for eradication.
