Bed Bug (Feces/Spotting)

Natural Habitat

Typically found in human dwellings, concentrated in or near sleeping areas such as mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, and cracks or crevices in walls.

Diet & Feeding

Obligate hematophages (blood-feeders), primarily feeding on human blood, but will bite other mammals and birds if necessary.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and elusive. They hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. The dark spots shown are digested blood excrement, which is often the first visible sign of an infestation before the insects themselves are seen.

Risks & Benefits

Risks include itchy skin rashes, psychological distress, and potential allergic reactions. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but cause significant nuisance and require professional pest control for eradication.
