Size: Eggs are aprox. 1mm; early instar nymphs range from 1.5mm to 4.5mm.

Natural Habitat
Typically found indoors in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas, such as mattress seams, box springs, headboards, and furniture upholstery.
Diet & Feeding
Hematophagous (feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, particularly humans).
Behavior Patterns
They are nocturnal, hiding during the day in tight spaces and emerging at night to feed. They leave behind fecal spots, molted skins (exuviae), and pearly white eggs.
Risks & Benefits
Risks: Their bites cause itching, allergic reactions, and sleep disturbance. They are difficult to eradicate and cause significant psychological distress. Benefits: None known in an urban environment.
