Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal insects that emerge from hiding spots at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages, each requiring a blood meal to molt.
Risks & Benefits
A significant public health pest causing psychological distress, allergic reactions to bites, and secondary skin infections from scratching. No known benefits; they are not known to transmit diseases biologically.
