Silverfish

Dark, damp, and high-humidity indoor environments such as basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and attics.

Carbohydrates, particularly sugars and starches found in paper, glue, book bindings, clothing, dead skin, and pantry items.

Nocturnal and fast-moving with a distinctive wiggling motion resembling a fish. They molt throughout their adult lives and prefer dark, undisturbed spaces.

They do not bite or transmit diseases to humans. However, they are considered household pests because they can cause minor damage to books, wallpaper, fabrics, and dry food products.
