The larva constructs a protective, portable silken case incorporating debris from its food source. It carries this case while feeding and eventually pupates inside it. Adults do not feed.
Risks & Benefits
Considered a household pest because the larvae cause significant damage to clothing, carpets, and upholstery made from natural fibers. They provide no significant benefit to human environments.
