Natural Habitat

Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophages, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They leave behind these dark, ink-like fecal spots on bedding which are composed of digested blood.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include itchy allergic reactions, skin rashes, and psychological distress/insomnia. Unlike many other blood-sucking insects, they are not known to transmit diseases to humans.
