Cockroach

Warm, moist, and dark environments, often found indoors in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and drains. Can also live outdoors in leaf litter and under logs.

Opportunistic omnivores, eating almost anything organic including food scraps, decaying matter, starches, sweets, grease, and even non-food items like paper, fabric, and glue.

Nocturnal, hiding during the day and emerging at night to forage. They are fast runners and can be difficult to catch. They often live in groups and reproduce rapidly.

Potential risks include carrying and spreading bacteria (e.g., Salmonella, E. coli) and other pathogens, triggering allergies and asthma, and contaminating food surfaces. They offer little to no direct benefits to humans, though some species play a role in decomposition in natural ecosystems.
