Natural Habitat
Commonly found in crevices near human sleeping areas, including mattresses, bed frames, and behind wallpaper or baseboards.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagous (blood-feeding) insects that primarily feed on human blood, usually at night.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, elusive, and photophobic. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal for each stage of development.
Risks & Benefits
Risks include physical symptoms like itchy bites, skin rashes, and allergic reactions, as well as psychological distress and insomnia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans. There are no ecological benefits to humans.
