Omnivorous scavenger that eats almost anything, including food scraps, grease, starches, glue, and even toothpaste.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal and highly gregarious. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis and can reproduce extremely quickly, with one female producing hundreds of offspring in her lifetime.
Risks & Benefits
Major household pest. They can carry pathogens such as Salmonella and E. coli, and their shed skins and droppings are common triggers for asthma and allergies in humans.
